How can I get in to san diego state?I'm a junior in high school. My freshmen year i had around a 2.9-3.2 gpa and my sophomore year I did absolutely terrible. I think my gpa was a 2.8 or something like that. I'm really smart, I'm just lazy. I'm trying really hard this year to get good grades and focus in school. I'm also trying to graduate early because once I graduate high school, I can go live with my sister and move out of my parents house (TERRIBLE environment for me to stay there) so I'm trying to graduate early as in finish this year. It is possible for me to do that...I already talked to my counselor about it. My sister goes to San Diego State and I want to go there too. I want to major in Journalism. The classes I'm taking right now are Regular US History, Regular Pre Calculus, P.E, Regular Physics, Honors English, and a class online that is helping me make up my grades from last year because I got D's. What are my chances to get in to San Diego State? I will do extra curricular activites/volunteer work/whatever it takes to get in. Help? The reason I asked that is because I feel spaced out or starting to feel like a failure to my family and my self. When I was 18 to 22 I worked as a painter then a small box truck driver for $10 to $12 per hr. At 22 years of age I obtained my CA Class A tractor trailer driver license, then I work as a driver for 2 years earning $16.00 per hr. then I was laid off in 2006, In 2007 I obtained my CA Painting Contractors License, from 2007 to present 2009 I have been trying to run my painting business with one employee myself. It has been horrible I have not been able to function like a good business would not enough work or earnings, I have barley been able to make enough to pay my rent and bills until recently. I am currently starting to feel like all my efforts in accomplishing different licenses and permits to make a living have not meant anything and have gone down the drain. I am starting to feel like a failure, I have never used drugs, don't like alcohol, and stay away from trouble. What should I do with my life?
