Open Question: I'm worried about my sister, does anybody have any advice?

My sister is 29 years old, and throughout most of her adult life she has suffered from depression. She lives a very long way from me and my parents. Recently she has been having a hard time, she has a slight social phobia and so won't interact with people/make new friends. She lives in a shared house and never speaks to her house mates, and won't even go in the same room as them as she's too shy, so she just stays in her own room all the time. She doesn't eat properly because in order to get to the kitchen she has to walk through the living room where everyone else usually is - she told me recently she pretty much lives on chocolate. I was speaking to her on the phone this morning and she told me her boyfriend had told her yesterday he was annoyed that they were spending too much time together (she moved there to be closer to him), and she is having problems at work too. She said she had been so upset last night that she took 26 sleeping tablets ("Kalms" - non-prescription) and cried herself to sleep. This obviously caused me a great deal of concern. I'm very worried about her, but don't really know how to help her, since she's so far away. She's made me swear not to tell any family members as she doesn't want to make people worry. I'm concerned that with Christmas coming up soon and her being so lonely and depressed and miles away from her family that she might do something silly. Sallymander, that was pretty heartless.
