Open Question: Will I ever get used to this small town?

Okay, so about a year ago, my mom and I moved from San Diego to this small town in central Illinois. It was definitely a cultural shock. Not to mention the extreme differences in climate (it's freezing as hell, even in fall). I'm a freshman in high school, so I'll be here for the next four years. I keep telling myself that I'm used to this place already, but I know I'm not. So far, I'm pretty sure I don't even like small town life, although I've only been here for a little over a year. Does it normally take over a year to get used to a new place, or will it just never happen?
