Open Question: Do American colleges go easier on Canadian students trying to get into their college? Open Question: Do American colleges go easier on Canadian students trying to get into their college?Okay so I'm Canadian and I'm in grade 11. I want to live in the US after I graduate high school. Well I have a cousin living in San Diego, so this is my plan... Right after I graduate high school, I'll apply for a student visa, go to live with my cousin while I attend college there for Nursing for 2 years. Then when I graduate, I'll become a Nurse, find an employer, and get them to sponsor me so I can get my Permanent Residency/American citizenship. The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that my grades may not be high enough to get into a college in the US. I understand the grading system here is different than it is in America, so for example, a 70% here is a B-, but in America it's like a C, right? So what grade I think is good here may actually be not-so-good there. Would the colleges in the US go easier on a Canadian trying to get into their college since they know we grade differently here and such? Also, I know colleges here only look at your grade 11 & 12 grades but only look for the grades of courses that are relevent to what you're majoring in. For example, if you want to take Nursing in college, they'll only look at grades from things like biology, chemistry, english, math, and physics. Would they still look at ALL of my grades from every class? And I'm planning to attend a small college, by the way, not a big university or anything More Recent Articles
