Open Question: Colleges similar to Reed, Northwestern, Oberlin, and UC San Diego?Hi, I'm a high school junior and I'm trying to figure out which colleges I may want to apply to next year. I'm interested in science, English, and music (maybe Chinese too). I don't want to narrow it down to just science because I'm a very well-rounded person and I like doing different things, especially English and music. Out of what I have heard and researched, I would like to apply to Reed, Northwestern, Oberlin, and UC San Diego. They have a wide range of majors (including a good music dept.), are a good size, are not too negative with the competitiveness/mental stress of the students, and seem to have inquisitive people. Do you know of any similar colleges with these characteristics? I would like to get a few more suggestions because I need a couple more to apply to. Also, these are similar in acceptance rates so I need more reach and safety schools (these seem to be more like medium-high target schools for me). Don't worry about how hard it is to get in or the prestige, I'm open to different ideas. Thanks in advance. Open Question: My vehicle's gas pedal just got recalled by Lexus/Toyota, will this depreciate the value of my car?I received a notice in the mail that the gas pedal on my vehicle has been recalled. I was told that starting in January, I am supposed to take my vehicle into the dealership and they will "cut down" the gas pedal of my car as a "temporary fix" until the new gas pedals are dispersed in April. Is this going to depreciate the value of my car? Even after the gas pedal is replaced? [Toyota plans to replace the gas pedals on 4 million vehicles in the United States because the pedals can get stuck in the floor mats and cause sudden acceleration, a flaw that led to the sixth-largest recall ever in the U.S.] "The Toyota recall came about after a high-speed crash in August involving a 2009 Lexus ES350 that killed a California Highway Patrol officer and three of his family members near San Diego. The Lexus accelerated to more than 120 mph, struck a sport utility vehicle, bounced off an embankment, rolled several times and burst into flames."
