Open Question: After 7 years in my San Diego condo can I be charged for new carpet or a steam clean again upon moving out? I have lived here for 7 years and just had my carpets cleaned 3 months ago. Now my LL says I have to clean them within 3 months of moving out which im moving out on January 1, 2010. The carpets where old when we moved in back in 2003. I don't want to get ripped off by my landlord. He seems the type to charge for everything since he would never fix a thing in the condo for the last 7 years!!!
